Looking Foward

This year has definitely started off rocky. Moving away from my husband to geo bach (geographical bacheolor), coping with being in essence: a single parent, removing a poisonous relationship from my life, the truck breaking down, etc. It's been a horrid start to what we hoped would be a somewhat decent year. But, I am stating to look forward:

In February, I will be turning thirty years old and my adorable son will be turning two. Eric will be coming home for a long weekend. March gives us both Emali and Erin's birthdays. (9 and 6). April gives us the Sub ball! July we are planning a trip to Cocoa Beach. October brings us to Eric and I's third(!) anniversary. Who knows what lies inbetween and after.

I am looking forward to all the wonderful things that will be happening this year and I am going to strive to not dwell on the negative. Wish me luck!

Even harder decisions

Back in 2008, I wrote about post about some hard decisions I was having to make. Now, it's 2010, and I find myself in this position yet again. Only, instead of it being a friend, it's a relative. That makes it doubley as hard. However, I will persevere as I always do.

This decision has not come lightly. It has been several years in the making. I have been disappointed more times than I care to relive, all because of this single person. No longer. I am taking a stand as a momma and as a human.

So, to my relative:

"I am finished with you. I meant what I said in that email. I have lived for the last several years without you, and I will continue to do so. You have not even tried to be the person you should be. Several times you have done this to me. No more. You will not hurt me any longer. You will never hurt my children again. Your life is yours. My life is mine. Stay out of my life, I will remain out of yours.

I have three wonderful children you will never get to know because that is the path you have chosen. You think what you want. Live your life and I will live mine. Do not attempt to contact us in any form. You are no longer welcome in our lives. All you do is drag us down with your empty words.

Have a wonderful life. I hope it's everything you want it to be."

So, internets, my thought for today. Do what you say, say what you mean. In the end, it doesnt matter what the action/words are. Stand up for what you really need and really want. Lies and deceit will not get you anywhere.

Downstairs bathroom

So, I finally got the downstairs fully de-wallpapered and washed. Then I painted this afternoon. I -LOVE- the color I picked out. It's muted and demure which is a contrast to some of the other colors in this house.

Erin's finished room

So, I finally finished Erin's room today. She absolutely adores the room and cant wait to sleep in there. (She's been in her sister's room cause of me painting.) Next challenge is the downstairs bathroom. I finished removing the wallpaper and depasted it. Just have to paint it. Hopefully, I'll get to that tomorrow. Who knows though.

So, what do you think? Leave me a comment and let me know.

Follow up

So, Dr McGrath called Friday with Alvin's amino acid panel results. They have a diagnosis, but they arent willing to tell me what it is just yet. Dr McGrath wants to consult with a nephrologist first. Yeah, so. Ok. He is supposed to call later this week to explain things. Let's hope he does. Or I'll get Dr Gross on his butt again.

I just wish we could get the diagnosis so we can switch the kids and I to Tricare Prime Remote and I could get Alvin a pediatrician here. Next week though. Regardless of whether Yale has gotten off their asses.

Happy 30th Birthday honey. I hope it's a good one. I wish the kids and I could be there with you, but, rest assured. When you get home, we'll throw you a party. We love you!

Erin's Checkerboard Wall

So, this is wall #1 of 4 to be painted in Erin's room. It's a very time consuming design. Here is the first wall of the design: the checkerboard! The other 3 will have stripes on them.
