Soccer Game Five

Today was horrid. Just horrid. Not only did we lose 16-0 but some of the parents on our team got into a (verbal) fight with some parents/coaches of the other team. To the point where the referree threathen to call off the game completely. EEP!

Soccer Game Four

Today was a good game. We still lost, but this time it was 2-1. Emali played her @ss off today. She had 3 attempts on the goal. She didnt score, but she sure did try. We need to work on her aim. She is definitely much better this year than she was last year. She is just loving soccer. Only one bad thing happened today. She got a free penalty kick after one of the other team's kids BIT her. Yes, bit her. Towards the end of the game, all of the kids were getting rather aggressive, but biting? Wow. Though I guess when you're 8/9 that's how you deal. Kicking, punching, biting, etc.

Taking a shot on the goal
Her team is like a swarm of bees. :)

Halloween Lights

Eric and I got new Halloween lights. They remind us of PacMan so we just had to get them. I took a short video of them (since they light up) to share with everyone. Enjoy!

Soccer Game Three

Well, they lost again. 2-13. They really were disappointed by the score. But that's what happens when a ref refuses to call offsides and the other team scores repeatedly by abusing that. Anyway, Em still had a good time and really that's all that matters.

PS: For those of you thinking that I'm making excuses for why they arent winning, you're wrong. The other coach asked the ref to not call offsides because he hadnt taught his kids that was wrong yet. And the ref obliged even with our coach opposing it.

Soccer Game Two

Just as an FYI, this post is going to start with a rant/vent. If you'd rather skip that, go ahead and just pop down to the second paragraph.

Today Em played against a different team from the same town as yesterday. Only today, the opposing coach spent the entire time yelling things like "Kick them. They have shinguards for a reason." or "Elbows are hard for a reason." etc. Basically telling/ecouraging his team to use violence against Em's team. One of that team's players did a slide tackle on one of our players that hurt our teammate so bad he was out for the rest of the game. Em was kicked in the knee hard enough that she wanted to go to the hospital. Her entire one ankle is black/blue and swollen and she's hating soccer now. Ya'll, I -HATE- crap like that. It's one thing to win, but to win by brutalizing the other team? These are 8 and 9 year olds. They dont need to be taught to hurt the opposing team in order to win. All I wanted to do was go over to that coach and tell him exactly what I thought of him and his 'strategy'. I really dont know if I'll be able to contain myself if we have to play them again.

Anyway, today was Em's second game for the season. It was a mess. They lost 8-0. It would be putting it midly to say that the kids were disappointed. Especially after yesterday's victory. I've added some pictures from today.

Never Forget

Sorry

Ok, I know I've been out of the blogging loop for quite a while. In July/August it was because I was packing up to move. Lately? It's been because I moved. I've been spending most of my time unpacking. And spending the rest of it with my wonderful husband.

I still find it amazing that I managed to geobach for 8 months(!). I'm so very glad that we'll never have to do it again. (I hope.)

But yes, I'll be back to blogging on a regular basis at some point later this month or early next month. I'm just enjoying being a family right now. I know you all understand.
