Erin's surgery

As most of you already know, Erin went in for minor surgery today to remove her tonsils/adenoids. It went wonderfully. She sailed through the anesthesia, surgery and recovery. She's spent most of the day sleeping, which I'm grateful for. It means she's not hurting. Luckily, they sent us home with narcotic pain relievers, so she'll get to spend the next few days doped. Hopefully she wont hurt too much.

All lit up

Funny. We put our outdoor decorations up weeks ago, but we didnt light them up until after Thanksgiving. :) We put lights all along the outline of the house, hung wreaths in the windows, put garland and lights on the porch columns, and decorated our old sled with a wreath as well. Here's the house all decorated!

I believe in joy

I've been in the crafty state of mind lately. So, I made some holidy banners to hang around my house. I  am only going to post a picture of one that I have done, but I have done four in total. Joy, Believe, Be Merry and Noel. I make them out of heavy-weight cardstock, seasonal scrapbook paper, and ribbon. They are labor intensive, but turn out wonderful. Are any of you doing any crafting for the holidays?

Death Turkey

Emali brought home an art project today. The writing prompt for it was: "Reasons a turkey would give to make you not want to eat him." Most of the other kids wrote things like; "I have feathers." "I wouldnt taste good." Not Emali. I'll just post her turkey and let you read it.

"Don't eat me because I have no wishbone. I have Lyme disease. I'll peck you in the head. I'm evil. I ate SpongeBob. So, he'll be dead too."

Girls' Bathroom

Ok, so I know I havent been in the blogging loop for a few weeks. I've been BUSY! I've been doing projects and crafts galore. I'll attempt to catch up with all of them over the course of the next few days. So it'll probably end up with massive blog post overload. Oh well.

The project I'm focusing on today is the girls' bathroom. Ya'll this house is tiny. Yes, tiny. So the girls have to share a bathroom that also happens to function as the guest bathroom. For the last few months, I tried to keep it more 'guest' than 'girls'. I lost the battle today. I gave up. I made it all about them. It's an orange, pink, yellow explosion. They like it and that's all that matters.

So...here's the girls' bathroom empty:

Soccer Awards Banquet

Tonight was Emali's soccer banquet. It was a good time. All the kids on the team got medals. Emali got a trophy for "Sportsmanship". This was given to her because the girl quite literally got her rear handed to her frequently. Soccer balls to the face and chest; elbowed, stepped on. In one of her last games, one of the kids from the opposing team grabbed her jersey and slammed her into the ground, then kicked and stepped on her. She never complained. She always took it in stride and strived to play on. That's why the coach gave her the sportsmanship award.

Soccer Game Ten/End of season BBQ

Today was Emali's last game for the year. It was versus the other Dolphin sports team. Our team lost 3-2 but, Emali scored a goal. Did you get that?? EMALI SCORED A GOAL! She was so excited that she finally got to score. And it was RIGHT before halftime too.

The play leading up to the goal
Then this afternoon, the team had a BBQ and a parents vs kids game. We had a REALLY great time. No one kept score, but suffice to say the parents won. :) All in all it was a great day.

Tommorrow Eric has duty, so I'm gonna spend the day with the kids and relax. Probably finish taking down my Halloween decorations too. :)
